Just to reiterate...

Drew woke up from his nap asking for Dean (again!). Today, he brought all his trucks and cars to the activity mat where Dean lay. Dean is thrilled by the big brother attention and smiles happily as Drew overwhelms his mat with matchbox toys. Drew says, "Kiss Dean? But not on the face." followed by a big smooch on Dean's belly. OMG - How cute is that?!? Once again, I'm blown away by how sweet Drew is and how enamored I am :)

When I tell Drew the cars are getting too close to Dean's head (note police car in photo), he gently moves them off the mat. Not only has he been so sweet to Dean, he's been listening to Mommy too. Pinch me...I must be dreaming!

Best Big Brother

Drew wakes up from his nap:

- Is Dean sleeping?
- No, he's just waking up.
- Is Dean crying?
- No, he's in the swing.
- Let's go see Dean!!

**runs downstairs**
- Hey Dean! How ya doin'?
Seriously, this is one amazing big brother filled with lots of love for his little sibling!

MY bubby

...and no, that's not a typing error. MY bubby.

I often talk of the great loves of my life...and I tell them each day how I love them with "toda mi corazon" and I generously adore them with hugs and kisses. But sometimes I overlook the real love of my life. I don't always dote all over him the way I should - because let me tell you he is amazing. I find myself counting my blessings quite often and the greatest blessing was finding such a fabulous partner. This man not only works hard for his family every day (so his wife can stay home), but he comes home to rescue his wife from the chaos each night. HE is the one who bounces the baby til he falls into deep slumber...and this is after having bathed the toddler & read books with him. In the morning, he doesn't leave for work til everyone is ready for the day: toddler is dressed and eating breakfast, mom has showered, baby has nursed and is smiling/sleeping. He really respects everyone in the family. He is a great listener, a great friend, easy to connect with, always up for a new adventure, incredibly honest, and always real. I can't believe I found such a guy!
This is MY bubby. The one thing I can't be without. I'm so glad he will never be stuck in the washing machine or left at home when I need him. (sorry Drew!)

New Do

Months ago I decided to donate my hair to locks of love - and I finally did it! Yesterday I went to my favorite hairstylist Jen and let her scissors run wild. It's definitely short...but even stars like Jenny McCarthy are sporting this new do.
So here I am...certainly no Jenny McCarthy...but with a similar cut: shorter in the back and slightly angled to the front. Not bad, but I'll miss my ragged hippy look...at least a little :)

Happy Labor Day

I welcome any "holiday" that allows Chris to be home with us an extra day...so thank you Labor Day! It is an oportunity to celebrate the "working man" and celebrate we did! Saturday we hit some yard sales, played outside, and feasted on lobster! Sunday, Chris and Drew went for a lovely hike (sans Dean & Mommy) and enjoyed the spectacular views of North Kingstown.Monday we met lots of playdate friends (including the daddies!) for peach picking! The kids (and adults) had a blast. Below is Drew and his best friend Alex running freely...

If only we could honor the "working men" every Monday!
