¡Qué interesante!
Like many others out there, I decided to start my first blog! I find myself with less time for journal writing these days...but plenty of time for emailing. This is a way of keeping those details that I share with you all for myself as well. I hope you'll check in to see what's up with the Kardos family in Rhode Island. We want you to join us in all our new adventures! Come along! Please comment freely!

The latest on the boys
Drew
Drew has been developing into quite the fabulous young man. He loves "projects" and being "helpful." So whether he's painting pumpkins, collecting colorful leaves, or handing tools to Daddy, he's thrilled. He is still going "pee pee in the potty" every day - three or four times! He's really proud of himself. He loves to flush the toilet and wash his hands too! And I just noticed that he knows ALL the words (or letters) in the alphabet song. His letter recognition is quite impressive too. It's so exciting to see his progress each week.
Dean
He currently weighs an even 14 pounds. He maintains his position in the 50th percentile. I'm holding off on solids for a bit as he's thriving on good-ole breast milk. And honestly, I can't imagine feeding two kids right now. Mealtime is challenging enough already! We finally bought Dean a crib! He's been sleeping in the swing or in our bed his entire life: 16 weeks! We'll be putting the crib together this weekend and praying for a smooth transition. Dean continues to be an infant with a big grin which he is happy to share with anyone who pays him the slightest bit of attention. He's a people lover. He doesn't have the best sleep habits (is that his fault or ours?), but he's got an amazing, easy-going disposition. For that, I am so grateful. He's beginning to roll over more consistantly; he enjoys colorful books; and he loves "patty cake." Who doesn't?!?

PeePee in the Potty!
Who knew that urinating in the toilet could be so exciting?!? Drew has peed in the potty for 5 consecutive days (at night, before the bath) and today he went before his nap too. There is no pressure for him to be "potty trained" because, quite frankly, I don't have the time or energy to worry about it. I am thrilled he is interested and having some success. Who knows if he'll turn around and say "No potty" one day soon...but for now, "PeePee in the Potty" remains a happy chant around the Kardos home.

Autumn Fest
Gone are the humid days of summer (ok, with the exception of this past week...and a few days the week before that), and Autumn has arrived with all its splendor: changing leaves, football games, hayrides and pumpkin picking, and of course Autumn Festivals. I have to say for such a small state, there are myriad of festivals to be enjoyed. Each town wants to throw their own celebration - and I say GO FOR IT! Last weekend we went to the Autumn Fest at the South County Museum which was great. There were pirates...farm animals...pumpkins to paint...crafts for purchase...old fashioned games to play...and it was FREE. Here are a couple of my black-n-white pics.
Ahhh...my little cuties!
